It\r\nusually regards official correspondence, such as administrative and court\r\nletters, birth, marriage or death certificates, foreign employment records,\r\netc. You may wonder whether a sworn translation is different from a standard\r\ntranslation ? we will help you find the answer.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Common\r\nfeatures of sworn translation and standard services<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>All\r\ntranslations should be completed by a qualified linguist, ideally a native\r\nspeaker of a target language. Such educational background is a guarantee that\r\nthe source text is understood thoroughly and the resulting translation is as\r\nclose to the original meaning-wise as possible. There are no limits when it\r\ncomes to the topics covered by sworn or standard translations ? the choice\r\nsolely depends on customer needs.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Differences between the two services<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The main difference\r\nis the responsibility of the translator. If the customer suffers some losses\r\nbecause of an error in a sworn translation, they may ask the translator for a\r\ncompensation. This does not happen with standard services. This responsibility\r\nis related to the fact that a sworn translation retains its legal relevance; in\r\nsimple terms, it is seen as an equally important counterpart. Sworn translation\r\nis always printed out and stamped ? it is the binding and proper form. The\r\nrates are also higher due to the responsibility borne by the translator. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to\r\nbecome a sworn translator<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>There are\r\nseveral requirements that have to be met in order to obtain this qualification.\r\nA person has to hold a Master?s degree as well as an advanced command of one?s\r\nnative and second language. European\/EFTA citizenship and a clean criminal\r\nrecord are also on the list. Finally, the candidate has to pass a very\r\ndemanding written and oral exam. After fulfilling the above, the linguist is\r\nsworn in and may officially start providing sworn translation services.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>It is believed that gaining the title of a sworn translator is a great prestige. We completely agree ? the examination may be passed only by those with high language skills and broad knowledge.
